BACKGROUND / HISTORY:

Capital Civil and Building Construction started operations in 1979, initially being primarily involved in the planning and construction of residential housing.
Considerable success and growth brought forth the opportunities to branch out into Industrial, Commercial and Civil projects.

The sole owner, Pieter Minnaar, is well qualified and experienced in the construction industry and has been actively operating in this field for the past 35 years of which the last 30 was spent on running his own company. He has a Building Management Diploma and is responsible for the overall
management of the business, whilst also remaining actively involved in the building sites and day-to-day building operations of the company. Pieter believes that the phenomenal success of Capital Civil and Building Construction lies in their “hands-on” management style.

After the successful completion of his Degree in Quantity Surveying, Pieter Minnaar’s son, Gerhard Minnaar decided to further his horizons by living abroad.
Upon returning from the UK, Gerhard completed numerous projects in the true Capital tradition: on-time with a high level of quality.
Gerhard now heads up the Gauteng operations of the company.

Capital Civil and Building currently employs 7 construction managers, who have all been with the company for no less than 7 years. In-house Quantity Surveyors, Project Planners, a supportive Administration team, drivers and plant-operators as well as a compliment of numerous well established sub-contractor make up the “back-bone” of the company. In addition to this fantastic team, Capital Civil and Building Construction also proudly owns a fleet of construction vehicles and plant-equipment including TLB’s, Tipper Trucks, Dump Trucks, Inter-link Trucks, Graders etc.

The company also regularly and proudly employ the services of a number of reputable sub-contractors who share a similar work ethic with regards to
service delivery. A few examples are: Blighnaut & Francis Raft Contractors, ESA Elematic Slab Contractors, AfriSam Cement & Opti-Truss.
Some of the company’s long-standing suppliers are CTM, Union Tiles, Noah’s Market, Nulu Timber Window and Door Frames, Prima Door and Prominent Paints.

Capital Civil and Building Construction is registered with the NHBRC Regulatory Council.
